The Three-Legged Stool
Learning piano is an equal partnership between teacher, student, and family–each leg of that stool is equally important.

Students come to lessons with a range of goals—enrichment, steady progress, high achievement, etc. My role is to support each student’s goal with clear instruction, encouragement, and an effective path forward.

🎹 What You Can Expect From Me
I am committed to creating a positive, productive learning environment. Families can expect:
- Professionalism — consistent, prepared lessons and respectful communication
- Customized instruction — lessons tailored to each student’s age, level, and learning style
- Clear guidance — specific practice goals and strategies each week
- Responsive communication — timely updates and open conversation about progress and enjoyment
- High standards — a focus on healthy technique, musical understanding, and steady growth
My home studio includes a Mason & Hamlin grand piano and a professional-quality digital piano, giving students the best of both worlds.

🎼 What I Expect From Students and Families
These expectations help students progress confidently and avoid frustration.
1. Regular Practice
A minimum of three days per week is required for steady progress.
Most students thrive with four to five shorter daily sessions, rather than one or two long ones.
2. A Suitable Instrument
Students need an instrument that supports healthy technique and musical development.
I’m happy to help families choose the best option within their budget.
3. Respectful, Open Communication
When parents, students, and teacher communicate clearly, students make their best progress. Questions, concerns, and updates are always welcome.
4. Support for Young Beginners
For students who are not yet practicing independently (typically around age 8), a parent should sit in on lessons and supervise home practice. This gives young learners the support they need to build strong habits from the start

⭐ Our Shared Goal
My goal is to help every student—child, teen, or adult—build confidence, skill, and a lifelong connection to music. When we work together with clear expectations, students experience steady progress and genuine enjoyment at the piano.
